COPPER BEECH VINEYARDS

Youngstown, New York • Traditional Method Sparkling Wines and Still White Wines

Rooted in History

Long before these vineyards took shape, before boundaries were drawn and nations named, the Copper Beech was already standing watch on this land.

Estimated to be over 300 years old and not native to the United States, our copper beech tree was likely planted during the French colonial era when this region was still claimed by France. From its place just a stone’s throw from the Niagara Gorge, the tree has overlooked the ebb and flow of history and the relentless beauty of the Niagara River below.

It stood as the French and Indian War unfolded across the frontier. It endured the turmoil of the War of 1812 as armies marched along the river corridor. And it remained rooted throughout the American Civil War while a young nation found its footing.

Today, this extraordinary tree continues to inspire a small estate vineyard focused on craft, patience, and the pursuit of traditional method sparkling wines and small lot still white wines.
